An Unexpected Path to Healing

This book was a very pleasant and fresh surprise. So many books containing offerings of "healing" end up being a lengthy advertisement for the authors' special herbal formula, or a program you can try on your own, but you likely won't experience the true effects unless you attend a clinic in Michigan. Heal Yourself offers an ancient method which seeks to heal the mind and spirit, and in the process can have positive physical effects as well. The mind is powerful; science has proved this with the placebo effect. This book offers an innovative, although ancient, method for harnessing the power of the mind, using the framework of the Chakra system.
If you are not familiar with Chakra philosophy, this book will give you excellent tools for exploration and experience of the Chakras. While the focus is on healing of the mind and spirit, much of alternative medicine seeks to affect physical healing through the balancing of mental and emotional issues, and the Chakra system fits with these ideas. This book gives a great introduction to overall healing through the Chakras. However it may seem too basic for readers who are already familiar with this philosophy. Once readers master the exercises and ideas from Heal Yourself, the new yet old world of Chakra healing has been opened, and readers will find exploring this philosophy may be a fulfilling lifelong pursuit.

Finally a remedy for depression and life problems

Finally, there an honest self-help book about depression that doesn't speak from the patronizing position of some therapist whose never actually endured the agonizing pain of unrelenting sadness. Finally, there's another recommendation besides the band aid that is medication and the temporary, sometimes even deceptive, remedy named psychoanalysis. It's Reiki, a theory based on the manipulation of your bodies energies and reconnection to your chakras, the vital life energy residing in your body. Now, ignore everything your logical mind is telling you right now about how completely strange, or bizarre, this idea of body energies is and don't turn away from what very well be your salvation to finally living a happy life because society is less then accepting of alternative spiritual life styles. Consider that the reason you're still depressed, and considering buying this book, or unhappy with life is because you've abided by tradition psychology or psychiatry thus far and it hasn't worked. Just like me you could throw logic out the window and take a leap of faith and be well on your way to establishing happiness in aspects of your life from your sex life, to self-esteem, and your willingness to commit to relationships. All it takes is reading this book and learning how to properly maintain your chakras through a series of meditations focused on using your chakras through the exercises presented in this book.

Clear and refreshing!

I've read a few different sources for chakras, but it was mostly confusing and incomplete. This book lays out all the chakras in a concise and simple way that is easy for beginners to understand.
