This is a pretty decent book but I'm subtracting a star because the illustrations are fuzzy.
This is a cheap book that is an excellent choice for the apprentice, student, or even electrical technician that wants to learn the basics of VFD's.
I keep it at work so in the event of a failure I can run through the checklist in the troubleshooting section.

Not the best written but does the job. Learned what I wanted.

Lots of people are using VFDs to power three phase motors from single phase power. Lots of discussions on the web about people doing this. Not a lot of explanation. This book fills the void. After reading the book I know enough to choose a VFD and how to wire it up. Mission accomplished. Not the best written but that's OK. So long as it does the job.

I liked this book as an introduction to VFDs. The author has been a CNC service engineer for quite some time, so his actual experience in the field is invaluable to troubleshoot these devices.
