Simple and to the point

This is a quick read of a book with clear photos. If you're looking for a book full of theory and stories, this isn't for you. Mike's progressions are a bit different than other ring and suspension books I've read, but they make sense. The squat sequence is new to me and I'll give it a go. I purchased the Kindle version, so $10 wasn't much. Some may balk at the print book for the size of it, but the Kindle is a fair price to me.

Great book - Mike is the real deal

The reason I got this book was cause my favorite strength coach, Dan John, had written the intro. "Hey", I thought, "how bad can a book be if it includes John".
Not only the book wasn't bad, but after reading it, I ended up adding a new favorite author (Mike Gillette) in my top strength writters. Mike writtes in a nice earthly tone and gives you everything you need to know about getting strong with bodyweight exercises and rings. No marketing fluff, no exagerations, no bs.
Mike is the real deal. As bodyweight exercise enthusiast and author I can see just by reading this book that Mike not only walks the talk, but he walks it as well.
Why train with rings?
One of the most important reasons a calisthenics/bodyweight exercise enthusiast should seriously consider training with rings is age. After the age of 30, your body isn't just how it used to be. I'm 30 at the moment and I already have noticed how my joints are not the indestructible adamantinum joints I thought they once were. Ring will save you from a lot of pain, or if you're already in pain they can help you to slowly re-introduce exercises you once though you wouldn't be able to do again.

This book has good info!

Finally, a book that tells you in simple terms how to do the exercises and gives simple routines at the end. It's has none of the BS of most books. Definitely worth the e book cost but maybe not the paperback price.
